About Glass Hound
I'm a photographer and camera collector, and Glass Hound started as a way to solve my own problem: there's genuinely great used gear listed across a handful of shops every week, and I didn't want to check six or seven tabs by hand to find it. So I built a quiet little watcher, trained with real collector judgment, to point out what's actually worth a second glance.
This is a personal, hobby project - not a business, not a store, not anyone's official tool. If that sounds like your kind of thing too, welcome. I hope you find something good.
What it looks for
Every new listing gets reviewed with genuine collector judgment - not a keyword match, but a real read on whether something is worth your attention:
You can also browse by Digital, Film, or specifically Collectibles, sort by price or score, search by name, and group by store. Each listing also gets a stamp - VG, EX, or A+ - but to be clear, that's grading how compelling the find is, not the physical condition of the camera or lens itself. A beat-up body at a genuinely great price can earn an A+ just as easily as a mint one; the stamp is about the deal, not the cosmetics.
Items that appear to have sold get marked as such rather than removed outright - camera shops move fast, and it's honestly kind of fun to see what flew off the shelf.
What's showing, and when
Everything on the front page is currently listed and still available - there's no digging through months of history to figure out what's actually live right now. A "Find of the Day" occasionally surfaces the sharpest thing to land in the last two days, and "Top Finds" highlights whatever's scoring highest among everything currently available - both stay empty on a quiet day rather than forcing a mediocre pick just to fill the space.
What this isn't
To be clear about scope: Glass Hound doesn't compare prices between stores, and it doesn't rate or assess the quality of service at any of them. It simply looks at what's newly listed and flags the things worth a closer look. That's the whole job - nothing more.
A note on accuracy
I personally keep an eye on what this tool surfaces, but I don't guarantee it's ever 100% right. Judgment calls about rarity, pricing, and collectibility are exactly that - judgment calls, made by an AI with good instincts but no crystal ball. Always look at the actual listing yourself before deciding anything. When something I've personally looked at and corrected shows up, you'll see a small "✓ reviewed" mark next to it - that's not every listing, but it's a real, visible sign of an actual second pair of eyes, not just a claim.
The fine print
This site is for fun. It's a personal project built out of genuine enthusiasm for camera gear, not a recommendation service. I'm not telling you to buy anything - I'm just pointing at things I think are worth a closer look, so you can make your own call.

I'm a real, regular customer at every store this watches, and I mean that warmly - I hope every one of them does well, gets discovered by more people who love this stuff as much as I do, and keeps their shelves stocked with gear worth finding. This project exists because I like them, not despite them.
